I'm Fine---How are You?
I’m Fine --- How are You?
There’s nothing what-so-ever the matter with me
I’m just as healthy as I can be.
I have arthritis in both my knees, and when
 I speak, I talk with a wheeze.
My pulse is weak, my blood is thin,
 But I’m awfully healthy
 For the shape I’m in.
I think my kidney is going out, and I have
This terrible pain in my back.
My hearing is poor, my sight is dim, most everything
About me is out of trim,
But I’m awfully well, for the shape I’m in.
I have arch supports in both my feet, or I
Wouldn’t be able to walk down the street.
Sleeplessness I have night after night.
And in the morning, I’m just a sight.
My memory’s failing, my heads in a spin
I’m barely surviving on tums and aspirins.
But I’m awfully well for the shape I’m in.
My legs are both wobbly, my hips
 Hurt day and night.
But my arms are strong as ever,
So, I can still hold my Grand-children.
And thanks to the Good Lord, I’m still
Healthy for the shape I’m in.
The moral is, as this tale unfolds,
That for you and me who are growing old
It’s better to say “I’m fine” with a grin,
Than to let folks know the shape we’re in.
