Forgetful Thanks

Forgetful Thanks

The holidays are a stressful time of year as people race about, trying to prepare homes for guests, acquire gifts, and travel. It's hectic and often difficult work. People put all of their effort into preparations, travel, and shopping and during this stressful time its easy to forget to thank the Lord for what he has given us. Even though we have an entire holiday dedicated to giving thanks we are still liable to forget. It's not all that uncommon to let things like holidays and work fill us with anxiety and become the forefront of our attention. However, the Lord has not forgotten us.

In the book of Matthew Christ said " Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. 30 But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31" The Lord remembers us, we should strive to remember him, and how much he cares for us. This time of year can be daunting but we should not let it distract us from our Creator. God has given us a great many blessings and we should remember to give thanks even past Thanksgiving.

As we all carry on into the holidays remember to give thanks to the Lord and remember he is there for us. “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:29-30.
