FUTURE OF CHURCH-BRIGHT
THE FUTURE OF THE CHURCH LOOKS BRIGHT
I remember a sermon preached by Brother Jerry Martin several years ago titled “The Future of the Church Looks Bright.” I want to share some of the main points from that message because they continue to be a timeless truth.
The future of the Church shines with great promise because it is built upon an unshakable foundation—Jesus Christ Himself. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:11, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” No matter how uncertain the world may become, the Church’s foundation ensures its future remains secure.
Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 16:18, “I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” This promise assures believers that no power of darkness or worldly opposition can overcome the Church. Its endurance and victory are guaranteed by Christ’s own words.
The Church is also promised growth and fruitfulness. In Acts 2:47, we read, “And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.” God continues to draw people to Himself, expanding His Kingdom daily. This ongoing work of salvation shows that the Church’s future includes revival, renewal, and reaching the nations with the Gospel.
Furthermore, the Church is called to reflect greater holiness. Ephesians 5:27 states, “That He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” This verse points to a day when the Church will be perfected—radiant and pure, reflecting the beauty of Christ Himself.
Even in times of trial, believers are promised divine strength. Isaiah 54:17 declares, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.” God's protection and vindication ensure that the Church can withstand any adversity.
Finally, the Church looks forward with hope to Christ’s glorious return. Titus 2:13 exhorts believers to be “looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” This anticipation fills the Church with confidence, purpose, and joy as it advances toward its ultimate destiny.
In truth, the future of the Church is bright—not because its members are without fault, but because it rests on God's unchanging promises, His sovereign plan, and the power of His Spirit working among His people. No matter what challenges lie ahead, our hope remains firm in Christ.

>PS. This week thank God for each church member by name and by the end of the week see if you were able to include everyone in the congregation.
